ACADIA Pharmaceuticals Inc. Research Reports
On September 2, 2014, ACADIA Pharmaceuticals Inc. (ACADIA Pharma) announced that it has received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Breakthrough Therapy designation for NUPLAZID™ (pimavanserin). According to ACADIA Pharma, NUPLAZID is the Company's proprietary small molecule that is a selective serotonin inverse agonist preferentially targeting 5-HT2A receptors believed to play an important role in psychosis. NUPLAZID has successfully completed a pivotal Phase III trial in Parkinson's disease psychosis, which together with supportive data from other studies, has provided a basis to ACADIA Pharma for the submission of a New Drug Application (NDA) by the end of 2014. Caterpillar Inc. Research Reports
On August 20, 2014, Caterpillar Inc. (Caterpillar) informed via 8-K filing to SEC that its worldwide retail sales of machines for the 3-month rolling period ended July 2014 has declined 9% YoY. The Company informed that its total machine sales in North America moved up 11% YoY, while sales in Latin America, Asia/Pacific, and the Middle East (EAME) plummeted 23%, 29% and 16%, respectively from the prior year period. By segment, the Company's global sales in resource industry decreased 33% from the comparable year ago period, while global sales in its construction industries segment remained unchanged for the reported period. According to Caterpillar, Energy & Transportation sales by industry fell 5% YoY, as a 6% YoY increase in the Oil & Gas sector sales and a 5% YoY jump in sales in the Industrial sector were offset by a 17% YoY plunge in the Transportation sector and 16% YoY decline in sales in Power Generation. General Dynamics Corp. Research Reports
On August 29, 2014, General Dynamics Electric Boat, a wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics Corp. reported that it has delivered the nuclear-powered attack submarine North Dakota (SSN-784) on schedule time and also over $30 million below the target cost. According to the Company, North Dakota is the first of the eight-ship group of Virginia-class submarines known as Block III, and these ships embody a Navy and industry commitment to reduce costs without decreasing capabilities through an initiative comprising a multi-year procurement strategy, improvements in construction practices and the Design For Affordability (DFA) program.
